Gasoline Dreams Series: Graffiti Nation/Homage
The subject of this work is the restless energy of street artists and graffiti art. Vermeer's "Girl With a Pearl Earring" is sampled and imagined as a Victoria Secret lingerie model. She strides along and pac-man like gremlins are annoying the heck out of her. Get away! In the center we have a iconic spray painting graffiti artist putting on his spray mask. Then I paid homage to some of the bright stars of graffiti art by including samples of W.K.Interact, Miss Van, Obey Giant and Invader all artists from France. I finish the piece off with my own tag down the center in purple and my own pac-man gremlins. They are just annoying, don't you think?
